AXT, Inc. Announces Change of Directors

FREMONT, Calif., April 26, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- AXT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AXTI), a leading manufacturer of compound semiconductor substrates, today announced that Donald L. Tatzin has resigned as a member of the company's Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has appointed Philip C. S. Yin, Ph.D., as a member of the Board to fill the vacancy created by Tatzin's resignation. Yin was appointed as chief executive officer in March 2005.
