AXT, Inc. Appoints John J. Cerilli as Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AXT, Inc. (Nasdaq: AXTI), a leading manufacturer of compound semiconductor substrates, today announced that it has appointed John J. Cerilli as vice president of global sales and marketing, effective August 29, 2005.

Cerilli comes to AXT with more than 29 years of semiconductor experience in a variety of areas including marketing research services, new business development, capital equipment sales, customer service, wafer fab operations, technical recruiting and training. Most recently, he was director of sales and marketing for Aixtron-AG, the world's largest MOCVD equipment supplier, where he managed the sales activities in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and China. Prior to Aixtron, Cerilli held executive level sales and marketing positions at Semico Research Corp., Speedfam-IPEC and Cahners-In-Stat.

Cerilli received his graduate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Phoenix and Marist College, respectively.
